Every US track runs a little differently. This table shows, over a rolling year of results we capture ourselves, how the favourite (the shortest-priced runner) has performed at each one: how often it wins, and the profit or loss from backing every favourite blindly to level stakes at that price. Favourites that clear a positive ROI are the exception, so the tracks where they do, and the tracks where backing them has been costly, are both worth knowing.

We build this ourselves from the US results feed. For the big picture, see do favourites win in US racing? and the best and worst tracks for favourites, alongside our track par times. It is data only, with no Overlay tip: our model does not rate US racing. A track needs a hundred results before it appears, and a post-position lean is only flagged where the winning-post pattern clearly departs from chance.

Frequently asked questions

What is favourite strike rate and ROI?

Strike rate is how often the favourite (shortest price) wins. ROI is the profit or loss from backing every favourite to level stakes at that price. Positive means favourites there have paid their way; negative means backing them blindly has lost money.

Where do these stats come from?

A rolling year of US results we capture ourselves, updated daily. A data reference, not a tip.

Is there a US post-position bias?

On dirt, mostly no: once we correct for scratches, winners come from low posts about as often as chance predicts at most tracks, so a per-track lean is only flagged on a clear, large-sample departure. On turf it is a different story: wide draws have won well below chance across our sample, as the "Draw by surface" panel above shows.
